  • Can sks please check the full bmd for me please.

I was looking up a marriage for someone. They said they have a family bible entry of a marriage between a Martin Lester Daniels and a Winifred Esther Norman for 10 May 1913.

Now Ive looked on freebmd and I can find a marriage between a Martin L Daniels and a Winifred E Bates for June 1913. Is this them do you reckon?
    (Lol, bit of a coincidence - Norman/Bates!)

Can some kind soul who has access to the full index just have a quick look for me please to see if there is by any wild chance the Daniels/Norman marriage for May 1913? Many thanks.

maybe it was her maiden name that was recorded in the bible- a widow or something.

That 1913 Q2 certainly lookes like Bates & I cant see another

Thanks people, didnt want to jump at that as the only possible just in case. Yes, I wondered that Jess but I couldnt find an unmarried Winifred Esther Norman, though I can find a Winifred Esther Bates - strange one - many thanks.

I was thinking perhaps a previous marriage somewhere along the line.

Maybe she was born Bates and name was changed later - perhaps her mother married a Mr Norman who adopted her.

Perhaps the person who filled in the Family Bible knew Winifred's mother was Mrs Norman and didn't realise it was a 2nd marriage, and assumed Winifred had same maiden surname?

Martin Lester Daniels to Winifred Esther Bates 1913, Egremont St John (Wirral).

Quite a few Winifred NORMANs marrying other people.

Thnaks O.C. I feel quite confident now that Ive given him the right marriage. It sounds like someone has confused something along the line (may be they were Hitchcock fans - lol)
