  • Is it possible to delete stuff from your hard Disc ???

My PC is ever so slow especially on start up I did stop some stuff from the start up menu but keep getting the message low virtual memory even though I installed more I think I now have 512MB
Is there any stuff I could delete from the hard disc or is that a no no ???

Deleting stuff from the hard drive won't make any difference to virtual memory.

Dave says, Right click on "My computer" and click properties, and tell us what it says at the bottom under "Computer" heading.

            Ok.

Can you go back to My Computer/properties and go to the Advanced tab. Click the settings button in the top most panel (Performance) then Advanced Tab and the click Change Button on Virtual Memory panel. Don't change anything, but tell Dave what you have it set as.

Dave recommends that you set it to "System managed" as this will make the PC sort it out for itself. Go back and do the same as you just did and change the setting to "System Managed" and don't forget to click the SET button.

Try it like that and see what happens Val.

Yes you should have enough memory. It just sets the PC do adjust the virtual memory to the amount it needs.

I get paranoid about doing something wrong especially as my Laptop is away in isolation , I would hate to lose this one too.
Would mean staying indoors with Tom UGH
