    One quite often finds references to beating the bounds in rural parishes, but does anyone know if anything similar was done in London for the parishes or wards?

    Well they did it in St Andrew in the Wardrobe last month

    and two years ago for All-Hallows-By=the Tower
    Beating the Bounds, an event in May - London.

        When Ely Cathedral celebrated its 13th Centenary in 1973, the bishops did a sort-of beating of the bounds of the Diocese. They visited the boundary parishes over a period of several weeks, and there were lots of special events: parties, plays, services...
