    Looks good, though I think most of the merchant seamen in my tree will fall into the big gap between the two periods 1835 to 1844 and 1918 to 1941 grrrr, especially my great-grandfather who died in 1917 double grrrr! Oh well, it's a start, anyway.

    Interesting.

    This was news to me:

    Findmypast.com was acquired in December 2007, by Scotland Online, the company who were awarded the The National Archives’ tender to publish online the 1911 census.

          I already got my gt x 2 grandfather's Chelsea pension documents, and militia records for a couple of great uncles from Kew, but this will be great for getting info about other relatives.

              Yes thats my hope too! I have a gt x 3 gfather I can't find. He was in the merchant navy around those times
