Not sure if it is me or freeBMD - but it seems to be on a go slow at the moment.

The normal way to find a missing person is to use the info that you have, that is Sept 1862 Rothbury 10b 468 - and then just enter parts of it at a time and see what comes up, for example a query on a page or volume number.

So to start with I would normally enter the year, quarter and place name - without page and volume -and check through the listing. Then if that didn't show anything maybe enter the volume number instead of place name etc. etc.

Have done this and cannot find a Susan or anyone that looks as if she might be the 4th person! :o

What is the earliest census you have found them on?
                                Can you give the reference?

Elaine here is the link to the census..

                                  Thomas Carr 1871

this is the only image I have them on as on the 1861 Census Thomas is still with his parents and on the 1881 he is a widower with 3 children Edward 17, Helen 14, and Susan 11.
