  • Which Reg District is Kilburn?

    Kilburn, Middlesex that is.
    Anyone know?
It's not on the Reg District Place name list.
    Many thanks.

I don't know Bev, but I think it might be Willesden.

That's what I thought Nell, but it doesn't give a list of places for Willesden, so I wasn't sure.

        It could be Holborn.

I'm struggling to get genuki to load but when I do I'll have a wander round the area

Kilburn borders on Westminster, Camden and Brent, with the majority in Camden.
          If that helps?

How peculiar - it doens't give any info for what flls under the districts in that part of London

Found this page for a man who has a certificate for a Kilburn address in 1921 which was in the Willesden district

Oh ......!! Well it does help .... and it doesn't!
I was definitely hoping it would be simpler than that!:D
              Thanks anyway.

                  Holborn isn't anywhere near Kilburn.

I've just looked on the 1891 census and Kilburn is in Hendon reg district, sub-district Willesden.

                        LOL

it's not really anywhere near Finsbury Park either, which I personally would have put in with Islington were I deciding. But if you go up from HOlborn and along Tottenham Court Road, left onto the Euston Road and then right at the end you get nearish to Kilburn. Which is just as straightforward as the route from Holborn to Finsbury. I was just imagining what fun and games the boundary line designers may have had

I have been wondering about this for ages - I have an 'adopted' rellie in my tree whose POB is given as Kilburn on the 1901 census, but I can't find a suitable birth entry to match anywhere nearby!

I have 2 born in Kilburn, and I can't even find an "educated guess" birth reg for either.

                                Really ......... ??????

I thought of Hendon, simply because that is where my 2 "missings" parents married, but on the map, it looks miles away!
