      OC, That entry is from Ancestry, Lancashire, England: Parish and Probate Records.

      And we are not allowed to copy and paste from Ancestry, so I'm going to have to alter it a bit!

        Ho hum, a wild sort of guess - but is this the name of the curate who baptised her, perhaps, instead of the vicar?

          Just a thought, could the "in E.T." bit be a reference to the baby's state of health, perhaps abbreviated from Latin - in extremis something, meaning poorly.

            Yes, I think you have it, UJ - normally it would say "privately baptised" but this is obviously a vicar who likes to cross the t-s and dot the i-s!
