  • who was the husband of mary jones b 1798?

hi..i need a little expert advice on trying to find my 4 x g grandfather....
    my 3 x g grandmother was Ann Taylor b 1829 in Dilwyn,herefordshire
i have her mother as Mary Jones b 1798 in Kingsland, herefordshire
i haven`t researched this side of my family for a while, and moved house in november last year...so i don`t have my notes on Ann Taylor....
(Ann married Edward Merrick and they went to live in Ocle Pychard)
how could i possibly know that mary jones was b in kingsland 1798 and yet not have her husband?...i just can`t remember...anyone help please..any siblings of ann taylor in dilwyn and her father in the census would be a great help..regards...allan:o

Can't see anything likely on IGI for Ann and nothing for Mary.

You must have got the information from somewhere!

Not really sure - it looks highly likely but still nothing to confirm the maiden name Jones, just looking on 1861 in favour of William being Ann's father is that her first child is William Merrick in 1861 census - but hardly an unusual name.
                      Back later will keep looking......

thanks helen...do you think i`m wrong in trying to find mary jones b 1798 in Kingsland,Herefordshire birth...would it be in kingsland parish records?...i`m going to have to go to all these herefordshire villages in the summer...i`m probably better finding the marriage of Ann Taylor to Edward Merrick and working backwards with actual parish records....regards...allan...

that would seem best, to find Ann and Edward's marriage that is. Can't find a linked or likely Mary Jones, so it is just a possibility that might not be accurate. Sorry!

                                    Morning Alan,
yes, I went on to discover Edward and Ann's marriage in 1849 and census returns.....but no further towards answering the Jones dilema I'm afraid. So I can't confirm whether you have lost the plot or not sorry!!
(It's no consolation but I am forever writing interesting snippets on my tree and either stopping half way through or not referencing the source, but I usually find I have something printed off to back it up - maybe it's time to unpack those boxes from the move??)
