Sorry, I can't find any Gregorys or Williams in Wigan. I tried tracing some 1901 neighbours but that didn't work either.

          Thanks Rachel,
Im not really surprised as the district I expected them to be in is virtually unreadable , district 21 Ince in Makerfield..lots and lots of faded pages

          Kitchen calls..thanks again..

I think a lot of Wigan 1891 may be missing from Ancestry.

There's a William Gregory on findmypast aged 24 who has a Sarah in his household. I don't have access to the images on there though.

Ancestry has 211,000 names in Wigan district for 1901, but only 81,000 in 1891!!

Not the right one Merry. The Sarah on that one is a child.

Thanks for that Merry, that explains a lot..Most of my Wigan families I cant find on the 1891census at all..The Ince in Makerfield ones are unreadable and thats where a lot of mine lived..

Thanks for looking Elaine..Im still wading my way through Ince just in case I recognise something the transcribers didnt. It seems easier when you know the street names.

Well not a complete waste of time as I just found my missing Hulse family on the 1891..
