Google ads on ancestry

I've just noticed google ads on the right hand side of the screen on the Australian ancestry site. How long have they been there?? Seems weird as surely they could be advertising ancestry's competitors?!

Not sure.....they're not on mine. Just checked. Didn't google get sold..or buy another site. Can't remember which????
