  • i tunes problem - help needed.

Photobucket and i tunes...I must be a masochist!

I think I recently downloaded the update. Not letting me upload CDs - getting this message:

'Current encoder settings for bit rate and sample rate not valid for this file.'

    Erm...help! Liz

I'm assuming this is when you import a new CD into the library, and not playing back one that's already in there.

On menu goto Edit, Preferences, Advanced tab, Importing sub-tab, and post me back with the options that are currently set please. A screenshot will be fine.

back in a mo, Dave...sorry for delay been sorting out my Photobucket errors...

UPDATE Dave don't know how to do a screenshot but it says:

      Imprt: Using AAC Encoder
      Setting HighQuality128kbps
All 3 boxes are ticked below that apart from bottom one about error connection reading CD.

      Thanks. Liz

These are my settings if that helps... (although I have not yet updated my iTunes to the latest version 7.6.1 - been putting it off for ages - downloading the update now)

Hi Dave - You will have guessed I am an absolute novice at all this. A pal helped me set this up but he is poorly at the moment...so don't want to bother him with this.

I have been until very recently burning and copying CDs okay.

I haven't even gone near MP3 or ipods... Thanks. Liz

UPDATE: how DO you do that screenshot Dave...will be very useful for me...Liz

When you have what you want on the screen press the PrintScreen key on the keyboard (upper right corner - next to F12) then go into Paint or Photoshop or whatever Graphics app you use, and do the usual Paste.

              Thanks Dave...

UPDATE Dave, I am sure you have better things to do (lol). I have Photoplus 6.0. - that's my graphics whatsit? Brought that up but can't see where to paste. Tried creating a new picture but paste option didn't happen.

Did find the right key on the board...Liz

UPDATE: Having to sign off now. Thanks again. Liz

Liz, I can't help with iTunes, but if PhotoPlus 6.0 works the same as PhotoPlus 7 then you create new picture, and then click on Edit (on that toolbar just near the top, next to File) and one of the options you can choose is Paste, then it has a little arrow and pointing to that you get "As new image" or "as new layer" and choose one of those to paste the screen print in from the clipboard.

Thanks KR. Did all your instructions but when I clicked on paste, the options were there but not in bold so couldn't access them.

I've tried it on a Photobucket screen in case was the i tunes one playing up. When I press the PrtScr key, the print box came up on the screen. Tried highlighting just a small bit and doing the same, still the Print Box came on screen. Tried using control key and Prt Scr - no. Tried using Caps key and Prt Scr - no.

When Photoplus create pic up on screen, should I change the pixels etc?

I am one step further on but...help! Liz

Hmm, it sounds as though your "Print Screen" button is set up so that it actually prints what is on the screen instead of copying it onto the clipboard. You could try ALT + Print Screen if you haven't already, but I bet that will just bring up the box too. Or try the Windows key + Print Screen, but again, it might just bring up the box. What make of keyboard do you have?

KR On the back, the label says BTC Model 521 3RF (TX). It is a battery one - no wires.

Am I supposed to highlight the bit of the screen I want to copy and paste?
Pressing Alt or the windows key with the Prt Scr one, still brings up the printing box. Liz

Well, on most computers all you have to do is press the print screen key and the whole of what is on the screen will be copied onto the clipboard - no, you don't have to highlight anything. I was hoping that googling your keyboard model number would come up with something, but it doesn't seem to (though 5213RF without the space does find some matches to do with a keyboard, but I can't see anything specifically about the print screen key). We may have to wait for an expert!

There are a couple of downloads suggested on this link:

I haven't tried any of them, so I can't vouch for them (and sorry about the over-cuteness of the page!!)
