    I have found a marriage on IGI 23/12/1808 St Mary Lewisham
    I need to find out the grooms parents - so can I
    a - order this cert from Lewisham office
    b - will it give parents names

    You can only get certificates from 1837 onwards.

    You will have to look at the Parish Register, but I don't think they put parents names on that early.

        You might be able to order a photocopy from whichever archive has the parish records. Early (pre-1837) marriage certs aren't very informative. They give names of bride & groom, their marital status, whether or not they are "of this parish" which just means where they were living at the time of the marriage,if by banns or licence and the signatures and witnesses.

        Sometimes the witnesses can provide vital clues though, and they are often parents or siblings.
