I have an odd one,i think.
Mary Jackson and Humphrey Woolcock married 1784.
    1st child John,bapt mar 1785.
2nd child Elizabeth, bapt apr 1786,BASE child of Mary,no mention of Humphrey though.
If Mary was widowed,Elizabeth wouldn't be classed as illigitimate would she?
I also can't find a death in the area for Humphrey...
    Thoughts..

How do you know Mary is the same woman for both baptisms?

      Good point!
I assumed it was the same Mary Woolcock as the first.
She could have moved there from somewhere else i suppose, wonder what happened to my Mary and Humphrey though?
If they did have other kid's it must have been outside of the area(Camborne).

A widow who had a child more than 9 months after her husband's death would probably rely on the goodwill of the vicar!

Humphrey seems to have been alive the following year!

You don't know how old Elizabeth was when she was baptised - she may have been born before Mary's marriage but not introduced into the household till after the second child was born.

Or it could just be a different Mary, which is more likely.

Elizabeth could still be Mary's child and not Humphrey's even if she was born after they were married and Humphrey was still alive! But I would think it is more likely that it is a different Mary.
