There's an Ellen Sythgoe b 1830 Lancs in the 1841 census in Standish and an Ellen Sythyr b 1826 in Wigan, 1841.

My best guess would be Sythyor but the nearest I can see to that on Ancestry is Sythyr in Lancashire in 1841.

The g is nothing like the one in Gollagher which should be Gollogher lol..

Mm There's also an Ellen Lythgoe in Standish in 1841. Do you have Ellen & Thomas on any census?

Apparently Igo is a real name, so maybe forget that marriage entry?? :(

Merry thats the marriage we found before I bought the birth cert and fully expected her name to be Ellen Igo.
Theres quite a few Irish Igo,s..
I was convinced it was that one because the 1st child Margaret was born in Bolton..well the 1st one I have according to the census and that poses another problem as the only birth I can find for a Margaret is Margaret Gollagher 1stq vol 8c page 31 Wigan 1854 and the census says born Bolton??

                            Dunno what to do now!

                              Hi
I'm going to Bolton archives in the next few weeks so would you like me to try and find the marriage for Thomas Gallagher and Ellen Igo?, it may well be poor spelling. A few of my certs for Bolton have strange spelling. I have Gallaghers in my tree that seem to have arrived between 1851 and 1861 and lived in Bolton and Later Salford.
                              Regards
                              Margaret
