    There is probably a simple answer to this, but it's eluding me.

    I am trying to trace a passenger record for someone who emigrated to South Africa from the London area in 1948. The date is correct as the person I'm doing this research for was born in the Cape in 1949 ;).

    However, try as I might, I cannot find any sign of him on the FMP records. I am assured that he and his wife sailed on one of the big liners of the day, but of course, we can't come up with any more details!

    Is there anywhere else I can look
