  • Would anyone like to try and read this Marriage cert ?

    Morning all,

I have just got this morning from the GRO a Marriage cert from 1844.

    15th July 1844

Elizabeth Kemsley (born c1804) & James Harrison (now this was her 2nd marriage).

Elizabeth Kemsley was my GGGG Grandmother - I descend down from her 1st Marriage.

Unfortunately, I'm having problems reading this 1844 Cert.

Would anyone like a little challenge on this Sat morning ?

If so, please send me a PM with your e-mail addy on and I'll send you a copy. I've scanned the Cert at high res - and it's ready to go...........

I'll update once we have a final agreed set of words on this cert.

    Thanks all

    Simon

Ok all - I do think we have it !

So thanks to everyone. We think it's Richard Luffman (as Merry has seen an 1825 IGI entry marriage for an Eliz Lufmam and Andrew Kemsley - now THIS WAS her 1st husband)

I did think Jefferson, but ruled it out as the J isn't the same as the one in James the bridegroom's name.
