          Just looked again - maybe not William - no reason why he would have written the one out above in full but shortened that one.

            Had another look Pal and I think that Merry is right.... maybe the way he said his name to the enumerator it sort of sounded like Jno.

              try changing the view options to Original scans and then zoom in, it makes it clearer (sometimes)
