  • Ancestry messages.

I recently sent two messages to tree owners on Ancestry, through the "you remain anonymous" system.

I am right in thinking that the message WILL be sent to the tree owner? How will Ancestry notify me to say that they have replied?

Both trees have been recently updated, so I am slightly surprised that I have not yet had any response.

When I have contacted tree owners before, the only time you know if it was sent is when you get a reply!

Have sent several messages off that I have never had a reply to.

Oh yes. If the e-mail address is no longer valid, they don't inform you either.

Yes, it's an automatic system, so the reply comes directly to you, through their system.

If you don't get a reply shortly, try googling for the person's name - you may find they give an updated e-mail address on another genealogy site.
