    Here is a bit of fun.........what are your earliest recorded Birth / Marriage / Death certs after 1st July 1837 ?

    I'll go and have a quick look at my records and come back in a few mins.................

    Hello Simon - I have an 1846 marriage cert ( although I don't know whether it is a relative or not)!

    The bride had to sign with an "X"

      Birth certificate of Henry Wraight 6th Febuary 1838.
      Henry was the brother of OH's 2x great grandmother.

      Earliest marriage certificate 22nd October 1843
      Earliest death certificate 22nd May 1841.

          I was meaning copies from the GRO............but we can run an 'original' certs list as well.............

            Hi i have a birth 3 September 1837 Ellesmere Sarah Cooke her parents though didnt marry until 18 mnths late.Theres is my earliest marriage April 1839.
            Earliest cert of death October 1841 Rebecca Bond

                  Witnesses: Shadrach Sarties [?]
                  John Smoothy [cd be Charles' father or his brother]



                  Death ~ my great x 4 grandfather

                  21st October 1845 at Uggeshall.
                  John Gray, male 97 years. Farmer Diseased bladder 7 or 8 years. Certified.
                  Informant: Sarah Aldred present at the death Uggeshall.
                  22nd of October 1845.


                  I have an older death cert for my husband's side of the family:

                  27th February 1839 at 70[?] Golden Lane, Priscilla Marsdon [sic] female, 70 years, widow of Reuben Marsdon, a broker.
                  Cause of death: asthma
                  Informant and address: Priscilla Robins, daughter, present at the death, 29 Old Street, 8th March 1839
                  ~ with love from Little Nell~
                  Chowns, Dunt, Emms, Mealing, Purvey & Smoothy

                      Not entirely sure Simon- a possible relative posted to me a whole load of photocopies of certs that he tells me he copied at Somerset House many years ago

                        Marriage
                        15 Oct 1838 in Cassington Oxon my 2x gt grandparents Thomas Moby & Ann Pritchett

                        Death
                        7th Oct 1851 in Greasley Notts my 3x gt grandmother Sarah Barker nee Brewell.
                        I have one earlier in 1850 but I'm not yet convinced of the connection.
                        Vivienne passed away July 2013

                          Birth Cert - 3rd Sept 1837 (Cherry Too)

                          Marriage Cert - 15th Oct 1838 (Vivienne)

                          Death Cert - 13th March 1839 (Elizabeth Herts)



                          Can anyone beat these with any certs they might have ?

                            Frustratingly, I can probably do one of the last marriages before 1st July 1837

                            Edward White married Sarah Thomason in Headley Hampshire 28 June 1837

                            This is frustrating because I have Sarah Thomason's guardian's name but not her father's name or anything about her family. :(
