Is the only way to find a birth after 1927 to go through the Births quarter by quarter? Thank you. Geraldine

Geraldine, it depends on what part of the country the birth was registered in - if you are lucky then it could be on their local BMD site. Have a look at UKBMD to see if there is one covering the area you want.

Unless of course you know when this person died and it was quite recent recent enough to have age at death recorded in the indexes or even the birth date.
