    1871 census

    RG10; Piece: 3208; Folio: 65; Page: 14

    First one on the page. George Wells Quatremaine.

    His occuaption looks like Naturalist to me.

    Would that have the same meaning as nowadays? I'm thinking a David Attenborough type

    In 1881 he is a taxidermist. RG11; Piece: 3102; Folio: 97; Page: 3

    Bit of a change from an upholterer in 1861

      Certainly looks like Naturalist - not sure of its signficance in the 1870's.
