We all remember him, don't we?
Now let me introduce Haddock Gifford, baptised at Sutton, Cambridgeshire on 16 November 1823.
Parents George and Sarah, what were you thinking?
or maybe Vicar was a bit hard of hearing and they really wanted to call him Zadok....
(Anyone else doing Giffords and has a Jane born circa 1770, maybe in Yorkshire? Can't see a cert on the IGI)

Just put Haddock as first name into Ancestry search box and there are a few hundred entries.

There must be an awful lot of deaf vicars

Mine was from the IGI btw so it's not just an Ancestry thing
PS I've just checked some images and I owe Ancestry an apology, they are completely accurate. It must have been a case of deaf enumerators

Unless of course Haddock was a surname used as first name?

I don't know his birth plaice, UJ but I think he emigrated to Cape Cod.
