  • Help with Minnie please!!

I wonder if anyone with access to Ancestry would look for a death entry for me please!
I'm looking for a death for Minnie BARROW about 1954 in the Havant RD - if I can find her age at death I might be able to find her with her family in 1901! No-one in my friend's family knows where she came from so a mystery to solve!!!!!

    Any info. would be great!

        OK

I've checked 1953 all 4 quarters too. I'll check 1955 and then stop.

                Thanks Little Nell

When I googled it there were quite a few Havant RD's Emsworth, Hayling Island, Drayton and so on.

BARROW was her married name. Could Minnie be a pet name do you think? Mind you, her marriage entry was for Minnie so maybe not!!
Oh dear me........ all these brick walls!!!!!

There are no female Barrow deaths in Havant in 1953-5.

What do you know about Minnie? Any clues at all? When did she marry and what does the marriage entry give as her maiden name? Where was the marriage?

Her maiden name was JUPP and she married Oliver BARROW in 1918 in the Westbourne RD. As far as I know there were 3 sons born: Rufus, Douglas and Stephen. The family lived - and still do - on Hayling Island.

Does the marriage cert have her age - or don't you have it?

Minnie had 3 children, so can't have been older than, say, 44 when the last one was born, whenever that was.

If she married 1918 she was probably in her mid-20s. Birth year would be 1895ish.
                          1901 census

Minnie Jupp possibles within that timescale

Minnie C Jupp abt 1893 Cuckfield, Sussex, Daughter Brighton, Sussex
Minnie F Jupp abt 1897 Brighton, Sussex, Daughter Brighton, Sussex
Minnie G Jupp abt 1899 Easetbourne, Sussex, Daughter Keymer, Sussex

                          Not many to choose from!

                            No I don't have it I'm afraid.
My guess is the children were born in the 1920's as one of them is in his 80's now!

Could well be - there can't be too many Rufus BARROW's around now could there?!!
The other two sons are still living by the way - neither in the best of health at the moment either.

Thanks for the Birth Entry - researching this family is like pulling teeth! My friend doesn't know too much about them - well he does now as I've got the early family from Wiltshire but the family this century is proving to be a knotty problem!
