I hope someone can help!
When I installed FTM2006, the only way I could start was to 'Run as Administrator' by pressing the right hand side of the mouse. If I wanted to open it normally, I had the message 'Critical components are missing, please uninstall and re-install. Your data files have not been affected'.
So, I have run it this way, although I'm sure that it's not normal.
When I'm prompted to save work, I press save to 'Custom Directory' and have ended up with dozens of temporary files on my C Drive, plus a main file and when I try to open the main file, I get the 'Critical components...' message.
But - when I open files from FTM direct, I have no problem.
This sounds very convoluted, but I hope someone can understand .
