I was just looking again at the death certificates of my gggrandparents, James Terry and his wife Elizabeth.
James died, aged 59, on 14 Jan 1875, of congestion of the lungs. Elizabeth died 5 days later, aged 55 and the cause of death was given as 'rupture of left ventricle of heart'. Could this be truly a 'broken heart'?
