At first glance it looked most like Martin to me, but I'm not convinced the second letter is a and not u and the last couple of letters are really faint.
Putting the wildcard Murt* into Ancestry's transcriptions brings up some Murtics, Murtas and Murtiers.
Not much help I'm afraid!
Update - just had another look and the first letter is nothing like the M of M.S. so scrap all my above suggestions lol
Having now seen quite a few Scottish certs, I would be quite happy to go with Bart, which might REALLY be Burt - pronounced in a thick Scottish accent.
Raven.... I have Donaldson's too.... we could be cousins :D
Oops, thought it was a surname. However the W of Weaver does look similar to the capital letter of.....................is it a persons name or job title ?

:D Its a name.... we all make mistakes don't worry at least you offered something
I must admit though that it does look like a W although I never noticed it until you pointed it out.
Well OH has an Ann Donaldson 4xGreat Grandmother born c1780. Not sure where but her children were born in Ayr.
Then his Great Grandmothers sister (another branch) married a Charles Donaldson who was born in Stirlingshire in 1861.
Then on my own line is 4xGreat Grandmother Jean Donaldson c1811 who married Matthew Hamilton. Again don't know any further back from her but her daughter (my line) was born in Ayr.
Maybe a relationship with OH's line and mine but haven't researched them enough to know.
