  • 1891 census look up please - Pinniger

Denise has been helping me with Sinclair census and discovered a son in law Charles Pinniger born 1872 Castle Combe, Wilts.

Found him as a boy (possibly) with mother and grandmother on 1881. To check out if right one, could you look up in 1891 for me:

    Name: Charles B Pinniger
Birth: abt 1872 - city, Wiltshire,
Residence: 1891 - township, city, Wiltshire

In 1901 the right Charles is a journeyman joiner. In 1881 (if right one) he is living at Castle Combe but born in Yatton Keynell, Wilts with a middle name of Broom.

On the 1901 census, can anyone help read what is written in brackets after Alexander Sinclair's profession of Engine Driver.

1901 Census: Alexander Sinclair (on census as Alexander H or St Clair) b1846 Bridgewater. Head. Engine Driver (illegible info in brackets on census)
    Household
    Wife: Harriette b1848 Bristol
Son-in-law: Charles Pinniger b1872 Castle Combe, Wilts. Journeyman Joiner (cart written over it)
    Dau: Winifred Pinniger b1877 Portishead
    Grandson: Charles A Pinniger b1899
Granddau: Phylis W Pinniger b1900 (6 months old)
Address: 5 Slade Terr. Civil par/ecc par/town: Portishead, Somerset
Reg district: Long Ashton Sub-reg district: St George
ED, institution: 8 Household sch: 175

Thanks. Sorry to be demanding today. Liz

I think it says "works Mill"

Could be static engine running the Mill wheels.

Hi all.. I've been away finding what you have...

Is this the marriage of Charles:

BMD Marriage: Charles Broom Pinniger 1898 Apr q Hampstead Gr London, London, Middx Volume: 1a Page: 1364 On same page is a Winifred Daisy S Fleming

How many Charles Pinniger's have the middle name of their mother's maiden name, Broom? Tried to see if Winifred married a Mr Fleming before this marriage and the S in the name above refers to Sinclair? I know they off their patch but...

Also anyone in the mood to send me the census records of Jacob Pinniger b1842 Wilts - the father. He is living with parents (or visiting) in 1881: He can also be found on other census I think.

1881 Census Jacob Pinniger b1842 Water Eaton, Wilts Son Married
