  • Unable to export a tree as acrobat pdf

After the old laptop (XP) died I had everything backed up so put it on the new one (vista) but each time I try to export anything as a pdf I get the message "Family tree maker has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

Then when I restart FTM i get the message that it did not shut down properly and this may have caused problems (too right, grey hairs and cursing)

    Any thoughts?

When you reinstalled FTM on the new computer using Vista, did you install the Vista patch as well?

Hi Elaine, I've been struggling to do that for the last hour or so, looks like as mine is FTM 2005 I'm going to have difficulties. off to try again.

Vista patch should work with FTM 2005 and 2006

I've done it! I've done it! It was just me, not the computer - usual story:o
          Thanks
