  • Help! - Marriage Bucks

    Can you help me please.

My Ancestry ran out and I didn't renew! Typical.

I am drawing up a 5 gen tree to put in my mums mothers day card.

I have everything apart from one surname.

I have an Eliza White in Bucks who married Edwin Smith in Shabbington, 1882 age 19.

    Father Charles Smith - labourer.

To be honest I haven't really gone any further on this line.

I need the mothers maiden name!!

The census I think could be them has Harriet as the mothers name the only marriage I can come up with on FreeBMD has a Harriet Honour on the same page as a Charles White in 1860!

On the 1861 I have they have a daughter called Zilpha aged 2.

Do you think the 1860 one is right??

    Thank you.

There's a Harriet Honour, dau of William and Susanna Honour b 1841 at Murcott, Oxon, on the 1851 census, so as the year and place of birth match, then that marriage looks very likely indeed

        Thank you ladies.

I may go with it as although the daughter would have been illegitimate thats nothing out of the ordinary.

Maybe I'll see if I can find Zilphas birth?

And it looks like Zilpah was named after her auntie:
The IGI has baptism of Zilpah daughter of William and Susannah Honour in Charlton on Otmoor, Oxfordshire 6 April 1825 - this could be Harriet's older sister.

                  Brilliant.

Haven't done much with my Bucks lot for a long time.

This may give me a push to get started again!
