    Can you help read the occupation of Robert Fielder on the 1841 census please?

      It looks like J Coach M

      The letter M indicated "maker" if the other entries are to go by....therefore coachmaker ?
      No idea what the J is before it though.

      Ah i've just noticed a J in front of some other entries too,i think the J could mean Journeyman.

        1851 he seems to be a coach maker.
        HO107; Piece: 1535; Folio: 638; Page: 34

        So 1841 is probably Coach m with a squiggle added at the beginning of the line at a later stage!

          An enumerator who love abbreviations!!!

          I think it says, "J Coach m"

          Don't know what the J would mean, but I guess he was a coachmaker.

              Thanks everyone. I couldn't work out if the squiggle was part of the word.

              Elaine - no I haven't seen it yet. Received the death cert for the chap who died at Cane Hill & he is definitely my man.
