  • New laptop, can't save census images

Having recovered from the misery of a dead laptop, we've now got a new one, but when I try to save census images from Ancestry a message pops up saying something like "For your computers security this file was saved to temporary interrnet files. do you want to view?" and I can't get the images to my memory stick. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

When it asks you if you want to view image, can you then save it?

PLEASE SCAN AT 300-600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES. THANK YOU!

      Are you using Vista ?

If you are right click : save as. save to (wherever you wish ) works for me.

Hi Wendy & Sue, yes, its Vista, I'm still struggling with the different layout & feeling a bit panicky. I will keep trying. (At least I had everything backed up before the old computer died)

I think I may have cracked it, but I'm going to stop now as it's getting too late to concentrate. Thanks ladies.

          Mmmm

Vista was a learning curve. However I did find it easier to get on with than I was told it would.

Mastered most things within about a week / ten days.

I find it strange now when I have to use XP.

          Enjoy.
          Sue ;)
