  • Lonsdale Family in 1851 Census

    Help
I have been searching for months trying to find
John Houghton Lonsdale and family in 1851 Census.
They are in 1841 Census under Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire.
Their youngest child was born 1850 in Pemberton,Wigan,Lancs
He died in 1868 in Manchester leaving a Widow Margaret.
Any help from anybody would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

      Hi
John according to the 1861 census was born Macclesfield,Cheshire.
Have been unable to find birth or baptism records either.
Forgot to say that in 1861 Census he was still in Walton-le-dale

I am at the moment trawling the 1851 census for walton le dale... on district 1d at the moment.

sometimes they do get missed off, even if they are present in that place.

Is it possible they are in the wet census in 1851? This covers a lot of Manchester areas (as I know to my cost) and presumably a few other areas too.

Some of the wet census has been restored and is online, pay per view. I have found two of my missing families on there.

                                    John Houghton Lonsdale

                                    He is my husbands g.g.grandfather.
Married Margaret Marsh on 19 December 1826 at St.Paul's Chapel, Hindley, in the Parish of Wigan All Saints. He was a Tea-dealer living in Scholes, Wigan in 1827. Then was in Bamber Bridge by 1836.
We also cannot find his birth/baptism.
Possibility is that he was from Parish of Deane - covers surrounding areas of Westhoughton / Hindley / Bolton-le-Moors. Plenty of Lonsdale's there.
Any connections - please e-mail me at myserendipity4@hotmail.com.
