    My Ancestry sub has lapsed and I would be grateful if some one could check on the detail for the following please.

    Scotland 1871 census

    Angus

    Catherine Hunter there is one entry for 1851 and one for 1849 births

    her father was David and mother Jane. She is shown as 29 in 1881.
    on her marriage in 1872 her father shows as a Iron Ship Calker.

    Catherine Hunter born c1851 is married to John.
    Catherine Hunter born c1949 is daughter of Charles and Jessie.

    Presume therefore they are not yours!

          1881 Scotland Living in Newcastle where her husband was born.
          1891 Dundee "
          1901 Dundee. "


          She was married in Dundee in 1872

          Her full name was taken from her death cert. Catherine Ann Barbra Escott Hunter Boylen.

                Sorry Linda - I've been having a hunt around too but can't find any trace. The only David and Jane parents seem to be in Clackmannanshire and he was a miner.

                What was her mother's maiden name, in case she is with grandparents?

                  Thankyou for this Gillian she is one of my brick walls, which is the sidetrack I was talking about on Bren's thread, trying to get an update ready for uploading to here so revisiting some of these whilst I'm at it.
