  • 1861 census help

I have given up trying to find my Chambers family in 1841, I have them in 1851, and one of the children Henry Alfred Chambers marries Mary Ann Hill in 1853(next door neighbours) I have Henry,Mary Ann and family in 1871 and onwards but no trace in 1861. Is there anyone with better eyes than I have please?

Rita, it might help if you give us some more info, such as where were they on those other censuses, when and where were they born...

Sorry I expect everyone to read my mind! In 1851 the address was Coborn Road Stratford le bow, they married in Stepney and in 1871 lived at 600 Mile End Road.M.E.O.T
Henry was born in 1832 and Mary Ann in 1834.

Thank you Julie, they seem to make a habit of 'losing' my family census details.

they might have better transcriptions? I dont know if it "just" ancestry that have the missing bits, or whether it is global. sorry.

I have tried them too Julie, I think with them you have to be very precise with what you put in.
