  • Where's Albert?

In 1901, Albert Sagar is living with his parents in Conisbrough, Yorkshire. According to the census, he is 15.
    Class: RG13; Piece: 4406; Folio: 137; Page: 56

I have looked everywhere, but I can't find him in 1891.

His father, Joseph, is living with his daughter and his in-laws (Baileys). He re-married in 1900 to Alice Ann Coward.

It is worth noting, that Albert could also be using the name Fitzsimmons as Joseph's mother married after Joseph was born.

Can anyone find Albert in 1891?

    Thanks for your help!
    Tracy

Am I having a senior moment - the above is confusing me!
Do you mean that Albert`s mother married after Albert was born?

          I don't know the name of Albert's mother. I can't find that either :o

Albert was born, according to the 1901 census, in Conisbrough.

Elaine, I meant Joseph's mother (nee Sagar) married a Fitzsimmons. He occasionally appeared as that, instead of Sagar, on the census.

Have you found a marriage for Joseph Sagar (Fitzsimmons) - other than the 1900 one?

Where is Joseph on the 1881 census?

There is a Joseph Sagar marriage on FreeBMD Jun 1884 Bradford - is that in the right area? Possible brides Ellen Milner and Emily Rushton - the other one married James Inman. Can't see an obvious death for an Ellen or Emily Sagar before 1891, though.

I can only find the 1900 marriage. He would have married in the Barnsley area - 9c.

In 1881, Joseph is with his Grandmother Elizabeth Hewitt (late Sagar)
In 1891, Joseph is here: Class: RG12; Piece: 2680; Folio 152; Page 68

So from the 1891 census it appears he married a female Bailey.

I just found a Joseph Sagar marriage in Barnsley district in Jun 1889 - to Elizabeth Green or Annie Elizabeth Wreakes (the other one married Arthur Henry Dunkley), if that's any help.

Thanks Kate. I did wonder if that was him, but it doesn't match with him living with Bailey in-laws.

Anyone know what Charles' wife is called? Looks like Frimula, but I don't think it is. I was trying to find them in 1881 to see if there's a girl with them, but I can't.

I had a look at the ages of Charles and 'Frimula' and they look wrong. He's 38 and she's 54. Perhaps a second marriage for her, and that's where the daughter comes in.

                      I'm so confused

Ok, that's even more confusing! lol

                              I found the marriage

                              Marriages Sep 1892
                              IRVIN Charles

So where does the Bailey bit come from?
And why is it in 1892??

In 1871 the older children are just Sunderland and there are 2 daughters, possibly one of those was Joseph Sagar's wife?

Ooooo Just noticed, one of the Sunderland daughters is Alice A.

Wonder if that is Alice Ann Coward and Coward was her first marriage??

Maybe she went for a late marriage after children like her mother with the 1892 marriage.

In 1861 Firmila/famillia Sunderland would already seem to be a widow.
