I have just had a couple of death certificates which I hoped would help me sort out my Anguses. I don't think they do, but one of them really tugged at my heart strings. I have had some unpleasant causes of death before but I just can't get this one out of my mind.
It's in 1841 , at an inn in Carlisle, and for an Ann Angus, maidservant aged nineteen.
Cause of death is ''suicide by poison in a fit of insanity''
Who knows why she was so troubled, and how alone and desperate she must have felt.
God rest her, the poor lamb. I just wanted to acknowledge her existence after all these years
