    Caroline Gibbons 1831
    Parents Jas & Mary Gibbons
    Parish Heston, Middlesex.

Its possible the original registers (if they still exist) have further information, such as the exact baptism date, possibly Caroline's birth date and Jas' occupation - maybe also an address for the family.

thanks Nell. She says she was born Uxbridge and I nipped into Uxbridge library whilst visiting son, and there is no record of her. Didn't have time to search surrounding areas.

I can't find from Hugh Wallis batch numbers OR from Genuki the name of Heston Parish Church, but according to British History Online its St Leonard's.

Heston isn't that far from Uxbridge, but they aren't exactly next door.

Nell - 1837 is only a rough guide so 1831 possible. I looked on genuki and Heston looks a bit far to be classed Uxbridge.

Jess - What have you found and where

The 1831 Pallots entry surely can't be her as she is only 3 in 1841!

I know Merry - I keep returning to this HUGE brickwall hoping for a chink!
1851 says father John, marriages cert say John then Byam but just cannot find her birth.
I hadn't thought of workhouses. I have found www.workhouses.org (link from wiki won't work for me).
Is there a way to search them?

                          Would a sibling birth help?

I found Jane & Thomas in Uxbridge parish records - father Brain & Biam.
The only possibility I found for Caroline was 21/10/1838 Catherine father Byam.
Now I would be inclined to think that is Caroline except census and marriage x 2 and death cert says Caroline

                            What do you think?

Well, it probably isn't a mistake in the PR's as there's a birth reg in the "wrong" name too! No death though.

Merry, she died 2/8/1896 West Ham under the name Ayre - although I don't think she ever married Benjamin. All in all she was a big fibber
