  • Could these be the same people?

    Hi

I have a confirmed marriage from 1827 in which the father of the bride is an engineer (deceased). I have a corresponding baptism in which the father is listed as a millwright.

Could these have been the same occupations or similar?

from the big book inthe wiki

Millwright Designed, built and maintained mills or mill machinery, requiring a variety of skills, from reading plans to diagnosing and solving mechanical problems.

sounds pretty much like an enginineer to me
