  • maiden name hunt ideas please

    hi,

i am struggling to find a few maiden names but 1 is really pestering me. have you got any ideas as to how/where i can try and find it please? if youreally bored andwant to look pllease do.

mr richard potts born abt 1796 northumberland, married hannah ? they had a daughter margaret ann potts born 1838 in northumberland. i have margarets marriage cert which gives me her fathers name and the IGI have a record for her birth that lists hannah as mother.

i cnt find them on the 1841 census either but that wont help with maiden name.

Was Margarets birth registered? If so it will be on the birth cert. It might also be listed in the original baptism register bt dont count on that.

looks good, however, there's no sign of margaret on the 1851 - mind you ahe wuld be 13 so possibly working as a servant. i will add it to my shoebox and keep the info. thanks

As an alternative, you may consider this one - who also has the right named parents

                  1. MARGARET ANN POTTS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 10 FEB 1839 Gosforth, Northumberland, England
