  • Can anyone find this marriage please?

I had the following from Kent parish records online

. Mary wife of Joseph Ayre of this parish died 20.12.1865 aged 71

    burials
    46
    365
    Joseph
    Ayre
    St Mary's Cray
    23
    March
    1875
    66

    11
    82
    Mary
    Ayre
    Orpington
    28
    December
    1865
    70

and now have found these notices together in London Gazzette 3/8/1875

    the estate of Elizabeth
Sarah Ayre, wife of Joseph Ayre. late of Ravensbournevillas,
Anglesea-road, St. Mary Cray, in the county of
Kent, deceased (who died on the 23rd day -of December,
1874, and whose will was proved on the. llth day of
February,-1875, by her husband, Joseph Ayre

    the estate of Joseph
Ayre, late of St. Mary Cray, in the county of Kent,
Gentleman, who died on the 18th day of March, 1875

Elizabeth died 23rd Dec 1874 and Joseph 23/3/1875 so in the 3 months from end Dec to March he has remarried. A bit quick I think!

I can't seem to see a marriage on ancestry. Can anyone help please?

I think his first marriage comes up as on Pallotts - Jos Ayre to Mary P - can you advise what it says?

I can't get the image up for some reason but if it's the one in St Anne Limehouse it's transcribed as Mary Barnes.

lol Jean, I thought I was missing something; )

The only Jos Ayre / Mary marriage I can see on Pallot's is Jos Ayre and Mary Barnes in 1833 - is that the one you mean?
