  • Kilburn in St Pancras?

    Can anyone help please

Been googling this but not really got any closer to finding out if Kilburn came under St Pancras in 1891.

My rellie NELLIE H CAVE was adopted by my PATTERSON family, and her pob given on the 1901 (Croydon) as Kilburn.
There's a birth entry for 1890 for St Pancras, but not sure if this is the right one as she doesn't appear to be on the 1891 census.
I'd like to order her birth cert. to find out if she is the daughter of one of the Patterson girls as there were so many kids already, I don't think they needed to adopt a child from outside the family!

    Thanks
    Alison

Index to Parishes in Middlesex, UK Holy Trinity

this link from Genuki suggests that Kilburn was in Willesden, but it would be worth checking all the churches: I just chose Holy Trinity.

Where she was born and where she says she is born on the census may be two different places and you can't be sure that she was registered under the same name as the one she has on the census either.

St Pancras wouldn't include Kilburn. St P is north central London (Kings X). Kilburn is in the north western suburbs. You can find them both on streetmap.co.uk or google maps.

        Possibles

Ellen Hunt Cave 1890 Jul-Aug-Sep Marylebone
[Marylebone is close to St John's Wood, which is next door to Kilburn. Nellie is short for both Ellen & Helen and the H in 1901 could be the Hunt here]

          Thanks everyone!

Nell, I think this may be her, but so far no luck with the 1891 census if it is.

Maybe I'll try ELLEN HUNT or CAVE or even NELLIE HUNT!

This is the Ellen Cave from the birth registration, mistranscribed as Cavey in 1890

              Thanks Nell.

mmmmmmm......think I'm more confused than ever now!

This may be her but no real evidence from the rest of her family I'm afraid.

If it helps I have a cert for someone born in Kilburn and the registration district is Hendon and sub district Willesden. That was in 1864

Think the chances are that the St Pancras one is the wrong one after all!
