  • No image - Scotland's People

I have paid £12 to do some searches and I have found my great-grandmother's death in 1938. I clicked on view but nothing has appeared.

    How do I view?

It has a button to click for view, but am I right in someone saying there is no image at present?

I know it's her because it gives the maiden and married name of her mother.

I've just found my father's birth in 1920. Beside it it had a box saying "No image".

I clicked on the box next to that to order his birth certificate.

For my great-grandmother THERE WAS a box saying VIEW instead of the no image box??? However, when I clicked there was no image.

Hi Jilly - It's the ActiveX that is disabled and I can't get it to run!

          Any hints, please!

I have paid my credits to view my great-grandfather's death (Robert Johnston) in 1924 or 1925, but can't remember which. :o

His mother was Catherine Wishart from Fetteresso.

there should be instructions on the site to activate the viewing abilities.....

I was contacted yonks ago by someone who has a huge database on the Wishart's...my sisters middle name is Wishart too... I've just checked my tree and mine were from the Melrose area in scotland...my dad's paternal grandmother was our Wishart....

There is a chap who does a one-name study on the Wisharts, but he wasn't as helpful as a couple of contacts from GR which I found. One chap and I had quite closely connected ancestors. He gave me a lot of help when I was new to Scottish research.

How do I check the Security Settings of my browser?? I'm useless when it comes to this! Apparently, that is what I have to do to enable ActiveX. I've used it before so I'm not sure why I have a problem now.

                    Thanks, Jilly.

There are issues with ActiveX for some users, and they advise using direct download.

I can see my great-grandfather's death certificate for the first time - I didn't know when he had died previously to this!

If not, they had four daughters and not three!

Can't wait for the 1911 census!

Elizabeth - the Scottish Robina in my tree was known only as Robina or Bina.

I had missed the fact that births and deaths are indexed up to 2006 on SP now!

I only have one (expired) credit on there at the moment and am not in urgent need of another £6.00 worth at the moment. Do you know if the post 1908 indexed births give a mother's maiden name by any chance?
