  • Charles Lyon 1811 Camberwell look up please

    Hi Can anyone please help me find Charles Lyon Born 1811 in Camberwell in the 1861 and 1871 census, I have him the other ones.

    He was married to Jane Dixon born 1814 in Newington and had children
    George 1838
    Ester 1843
    Charles 1846
    Hannah 1847
    William 1850
    In 1851 they lived in Camberwell and he was a milkman.

    Thanks

    Lindy, is he still with Jane in 1881? And still in Camberwell?

      I can't see him in 1881. There is a Charles Lyon married to Jane and living in Camberwell but he is a general dealer and only 36.

        No I havent got 1881 either, I have him in 1841 living with his son George, I think George might be from a different Mother Nell, then in 1851 with Jane and all the children

          1861

          RG9; Piece: 368; Folio: 291; Page: 11;

          has Charles age 48, Hannah age 12 and William age 9 living at what looks like 24 Wilsons Row, Clapham. But Charles birthplace is given as Middlesex St Georges and there is a confusing Charles Lyon is a widowed lighterman born St George in the East, Middx who crops up on other censuses. The children both born Camberwell.

            Lindy, sorry I misread your post, when you said you had him in the other censuses I assumed (as you already had 1851) that you meant 1881.

              The trouble is Nell is that his son Charles born 1843-46 married Sarah Jane Larner and in some census she is called Jane, I think that is the one you have found
