I'm wondering whether to get one, but have no experience of using them.

Are they easy to use? I do have a desk top reader, but it's a bit past it's sell by date, and the slider keeps getting stuck, so instead of moving along slowly, it jerks, and I miss a couple of pages. OH has tried lubricating the rod, but it makes no difference.

    Your thoughts appreciated.

      Pauline,

I could be interested in knowing more about this. I wonder how easy they are to read if you have to hold as well as read?

It is only worth getting a decent one, most of the cheap ones only have a standard lens and it makes reading very hard. Like everything you get what you pay for, i would try and fix your desk top reader,
