  • Shrewsbury, Shrosphire phone books

Hello, can anyone tell me how often the phone company publishes a new phone book for Shrewsbury?
    I am looking for 1950s into 1970.
How would a person access these books?
    Thanks

Just bumping this up for Chris. I moved it from another board and it got a bit lost amongst all the threads on here :o :D

Chris, nowadays there is a new phone book every year and I think it would have been the same in those days too. Have you looked on ancestry? They have loads of old phone books on there.

County Libraries often have a full set of historical phone books for their area. You could try there first.

Used to be about every 2 years when it had to be typeset from paper records. Now it comes straight off the BT database and is published once a year. New entries and changes usually appear on the online version within a couple of weeks.
