We have found Henry Thomas Monday on the 1871 census living in Toxtheh Park Liverpool but nothing after that. I do not know if he married or died before he could marry

Long shot but have you considered the Henry Moody born 1859 Stonehouse Devon, a corporal in the marines at Chatham in the 1881?

Just had a look to see if I could see a Henry Moody in 1871 and 1891 Sheila but couldn't.
My naval ancestor's details were incorrect on a couple of the censi and capital T is quite often misread as J, so I thought it was a slight possibility.

There are several possibilities for a marriage for him on Lancsbmd, including a wild card George H T Monday.

(I didn't try any of the variant spellings).

Have you tried looking under the name of MUNDAY as I did go to school with a Munday in the Plymouth area!

Plymouth to Liverpool, is he navy? Yes I see you said he was a master mariner so he may have travelled back to Plymouth?

I was going to suggest a marine connection. Hull and Liverpool were major ports.

Sheila.............have you trawled for deaths at all?
I'd say there would be a naval connection with East Stonehouse and Liverpool.

My lot started in Liverpool and then lived in East Stonehouse. The Plymouth base was there, or at least the people lived there. A little earlier than yours, but I think it would be the same.

So you don't have any of the family in 1861, or just not Henry??

Hello Libby--we know every thing that there is to know about the rest of the family, but Henry Thomas Monday after the age 11 on the 1881 census we have nothing at all.
