    Any ideas what this young chaps name is likely to be please. The 3 year old boy. It has been transcribed as Jno Wm, so is that likely to be John William or has anyone got a better idea please?

    Chrissie passed away in January 2020.

    Chrissie........the J for Jno doesn't look the same to me as the J for Joseph.

    Jno was usually John.

    No help, am I???

      I agree it looks like John William. Have you looked for him in the next census or is that the 1901 census?

          Thanks for all your input. I think I shall go with John William until I find out any different

              The dangly bits on some capital (and small) letters sometimes differ depending on the letters either side. I think the general shape is the same.
