  • 1901 Census Help

    Hello,
I'm hoping someone here can help me, I'm looking for a family in 1901 but can't for the life of me find them. I've looked a few times and no luck!

    The family are:

    Parents
    Edward Roach
born abt 1850 supposedly in Gateshead, Durham (according to the 1871 census) but can't find birth record.
Mary Ann (nee Conley) b abt 1853 also supposedly in Gateshead, Durham.

    Children
    Mary Jane Roach
    b abt 1870
Margaret Ann Roach b abt 1871
    William Roach b 1873
    Edward Roach b 1874
    Rose Roach b 1875
    John Roach b 1876
    Catherine Roach b abt 1879
    James Roach b abt 1886
    Elizabeth Roach b 1887
    Ellen Roach b abt 1889

All children were born in Gateshead as far as I can see so far. I have the family on the 1891 census Piece: 4180; Folio 111; Page 62; GSU roll: 6099290. but just can't see them on 1901.

The surname Roach is a nightmare!

    Thanks in advance!

I should add that I know that the daughter Elizabeth stayed in the area all her life, I have her marriage and death details.

Maybe the two elder girls had married - but I can't find any likely marriages. I assume you've tried Roche, Boach, Rowch etc.
