    LABOUCHERE FAMILY

    HO107; Piece: 1486; Folio: 6; Page: 4

    at Portland place

    John Labouchere, head, c1799
Mary Labouchere, c1806 (birth name Mary Louisa Dupre)

    Children :

Henry Dupre Labouchere 1831 (he's not on 1851 at all - but he's my connection)

    Louisa labouchere c1832 London
    Arthur Labouchere c1842 London
    Emily Labouchere c1834 London
    Cecilia Labouchere c1841 London
    Theresa Labouchere c1844 STreatham, Surrey
    Mary Labouchere c1848 Streatham Surrey

I also know there's another daughter called Fanny Adelaide who died in 1919

I started to find some of them on peerage.com but I got lost and the info looks very haphazard

I know nothing about them really.

Henry Dupre Labouchere was a politician and he married my 3 x great aunt, an actress.

About 4 years ago (pre mass census on ancestry) I did a skeleton of this tree on a bit of paper one night at work. Now I can't find it and I want to look into it as being landed types if I can come forward far enough I might find people with archives full of pictures

              *ever hopeful*

got the Crichton-Stuarts on 1891 (as Adelaide Stuart born Streatham) and she has with her some nieces/nephews called Thornton so I think that Thornton marriage is correct

oooooh - here's one of the children of Theresa Labouchere and george Thornton

                        NPG x122120; Maxwell Ruthven Thornton

George Thornton was the Curate of Ware and then a Rector at Kensington

all their kids have been quite easy to find as they're have a middle name of either Ruthven or Labouchere Ruthven

PMSL - I don't have any Jones at all and I have 5 smiths - one Smith woman married-in to a Bartram and her Smith brother married a Bartram girl and they had all Smith daughters

So my Smiths are very brief and the name disappears within years

is it a bad time to confess the reason I'm looking to trace forward so hard is that I'm desperate to find out about the three husbands of Henry and Henrietta's daughter Dora. I found a website years ago saying she married two princes and a Count and I only have details of one of them from The Times. Hopefully her posh family will know.

You wouldn't believe that I grew up in relative poverty on a council estate would you?

ooooh - I've just remembered - one of the girls must have married someone called Thorold as Henry's nephew Algar Labouchere Thorold wrote his biography

                              *dashes off to ancestry*

Pah! my birth father was the son of a minister

no wonder he did a daylight flit, having had kids here there and everywhere with every woman that looked at him.

He'll have a mention in the Times , I'll bet, Old Bailey I expect!

Ach - my father was like that too. Although not the son of a minister bit. He was last spotted in Wandsworth prison by my brother (brother was making a visit to a friend on remandwho was found innocent btw) . Hopefully he's still there
