Please can anyone do a look up for me? he was born in Govan ,Glasgow and married a Mary sometime before 1873, which was the year of birth of the first child that i have, namely Janet Govan.
thanks

Sorry didn't make it clear, (as usual), I wanted to know Mary's maiden name and possible date of marriage.
Wendy P that looks like them. is there a site that I can use which is free to find others of his family in Govan, Glasgow? Ebenezers father was William 1817 and mother Elizabeth 1821 . Ebenezer's son was also Ebenezer plus Abraham, have seen it written with either name first, he was born in Govan but died in Wakefield Yorkshire. I think the latter married my relly Ann Blake born Rochdale 1883/4.
thanks

Hi Nell,Wendy and Jess, thanx for your help. I am still a bit confused.
This is the info I have.
Abram (Ebenezer) Govan 1880 married my relly Ann(ie)Blake 1883 in Lancsahire in 1908.
they had: Margaret Ann 1912 Corley
Leonard 1915-1915 Chorley
Robert 1916 Wakefield
Lucy 1918-1926 Wakefield
Janet 1920- living Wakefield
Nathaniel 1922- died aged 6 months
Stanley 1924-1984 Wakefield
I found him in Adlington,Chorley in 1891 with his parents Ebenezer 1847 and Mary 1847. Looking up the births for his children I found that Margaret and Lucy had the ma's maiden name down as Jolly??? yet my contact says they are all brothers and sisters of her Mum who is Janet 1920.
Could Ebenenezer 1880 be a brother to Ebenezer born 1870 and maybe the latter died and they used the name again?
On the 1891 census for Adlington,Chorley his birthplace is down as Govan, lancashire but on the census form it looks like Lanarkshire.
Whose certificate would help me most to verify his being???
Thanks Sunny Rosy

Reason: name change,had duplicated
Thanks Shaz, I am fairly sure that the answer is that the Ebenezer b1870 and died in 1873 , confirmed it and that another child was baptised Ebenezer Abraham or Abraham Ebenezer in 1880, he is on the 1891 census in England with Mum and Dad. As to the two different maiden names for the children , I reckon he had another lady stashed away somewhere.
thanks again. xx Rosy.
